Questions

Question time was great last night, the debate echoed much of what has been running through my head since I heard about the raid that ended the life of Osama bin Laden. I suppose first of all, I questioned if it was him to begin with, but they assure the public that there has been a DNA test. There is a question about if the appropriate rules of engagement were followed. On Question Time, a few of the panellists referred to what happened as an execution without a trial. At the end of the day, it was the field of battle and the person who pulled the trigger we will never be known. I don’t know the inner workings of the Central Intelligence Office, I do know, however, that there are probably a lot of people who had a lot of interest in never letting Osama speak publicly. This is a man who had a relationship with the United States and received extensive training. There are enough conspiracy theories that the Global oil industry either allowed or assisted terrorism to flourish as a way of both controlling oil prices and oil production, the September 11th attacks creating a justification for a decade of neo colonial wars in the Middle East that were able to maintain the power of highly oppressive regimes across the region. Obama not making a big deal out of his death is very politically astute, he doesn’t want to risk a back lash that will endanger the blossoming democracy movement..
